Plain language. What we collect, why, and how to leave.
What we collect
- Email list. Your email address when you sign up, the time you confirmed, and a hashed version of your IP address as proof of consent. We never store a raw IP address with your signup.
- Messages. When you use the Train with Joel form: your name, email, optional phone number, preferred times, and what you write.
- Basic site logs. Our host keeps standard technical logs (for example page requests and errors) to keep the site running.
What we do not collect
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not take payments on this site. Purchases happen on BJJ Fanatics under their own policies.
- We do not collect information from children. If you write about a child, use your own (parent or guardian) details only.
How we use it
- To send the emails you asked for (confirmation, newsletters, class and instructional news).
- To reply to your messages.
- To keep the list clean (for example, removing bounces).
Who handles it
- Resend sends our email on our behalf and processes email addresses and delivery events (sent, delivered, opened, clicked, bounced) for that purpose.
- Supabase stores our data. Vercel hosts the site.
- Links to BJJ Fanatics, YouTube, Instagram, Smoothcomp, and Savage Jiu-Jitsu leave this site. Those sites have their own policies.
Unsubscribe anytime
Every email has an unsubscribe link, and a one-click unsubscribe option in your mail app. When you unsubscribe, we keep your address on a suppression list so we never email you again by mistake.
Your choices
To see, correct, or delete what we hold about you, reply to any email from us, or send a message through the Train with Joel page.
